Greg Boyce was born in Pittsburgh, PA but grew up predominantly in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Greg’s passion for organic synthesis emerged while studying abroad in Brighton, England at the University of Sussex under the tutelage of Professor Philip J. Parsons. Upon his return to Emory University in Atlanta, Greg began undergraduate research with Professor Craig Hill in the design and synthesis of polyoxometalates. After graduating with an ACS certified B.S. in Chemistry from Emory University, he moved to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to work with Professor Jeffrey S. Johnson on silyl glyoxylate cascade reactions and new types of asymmetric umpolung reagents. Upon graduating with his Ph.D., Greg began his career in academia at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA before moving to Florida Gulf Coast University where he holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry.
